Northside Hospital Offers Free Prostate Screening in Sandy Springs Sept. 14

Northside Hospital’s Cancer Institute is offering a free screening on September 14 to determine men’s risk for developing prostate cancer. September is prostate cancer awareness month. The screening is administered by health care professionals and includes a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test. The blood level of PSA is often elevated in men with prostate cancer.


The screening takes place:

Thursday, September 14, 2017, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Men ages 45-75
  • Have never been diagnosed with prostate cancer
  • Have not had a prostate exam within the past year


Prostate cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men, aside from skin cancer. A nurse navigator will be available to help arrange follow up care, if indicated. Spanish interpreters will also be available free of charge during the screening.
